On September 23, the opening ceremony of the 2017 (19th) China International Mining Conference was held in Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center. The conference is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Land and Resources, Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, and China Mining Federation. The theme of the conference is "Promoting the Spirit of the Silk Road and Promoting the Prosperity of Mining Industry". It focuses on the global mining situation and policies, mining investment and finance, mining exploration and Discussions and exchanges on topics such as development and mining green development.

Jiang Daming introduced that in recent years, the Chinese mining industry has focused on supply-side structural reforms, focusing on reducing production capacity, destocking, deleveraging, reducing costs, making up for shortcomings, driving innovation, leading reforms, green safety, inclusive sharing, openness and mutual benefit. Steady progress has been made in the construction of high-end mining, which has made important contributions to the country's historic changes. In the past year, my country has invested more than 77 billion yuan in geological exploration, and the reserves of 36 major minerals have increased. Among them, one newly added lead-zinc mine was over 10 million tons. Domestic production of mineral products began to pick up. The growth rate of the output of main mineral products rebounded. The output of primary energy was 3.46 billion tons of standard coal, the output of iron ore was 1.28 billion tons, and the output of ten kinds of non-ferrous metal minerals was 52.83 million tons. The total profit of the national mining industry increased by 12.4 times year-on-year, and corporate efficiency improved significantly. . Foreign trade in energy and minerals continued to grow.
Jiang Daming emphasized that the “Belt and Road” initiative is rooted in the historical soil of the Silk Road. The spirit of the BRICS and the Silk Road are connected and inherited, providing important guidance for global mining governance. We need to intensify dialogue and exchanges and strengthen policy communication. Deepen cooperation among mining departments of various countries, strengthen mining policy dialogue, enhance communication on development strategies, promote the signing and implementation of bilateral and multilateral cooperation framework agreements, and provide policy support for international mining cooperation. We must increase the level of openness and optimize the investment environment. Scientifically grasp the development trend of economic globalization and regional economic integration, unswervingly follow the path of open cooperation and win-win, oppose any form of trade protectionism, and create a global mining industry chain with complementary advantages. We must rely on technological progress and strengthen innovation drive. Jointly build a multi-level and open innovation platform, improve personnel training and exchange mechanisms, promote the widespread application of cutting-edge technologies in the mining field, and create a policy environment and social atmosphere conducive to innovation and creation. We must deepen pragmatic cooperation to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. Implement the "Belt and Road" basic geological survey and information service plan, deepen the cooperation of geological surveys of countries along the route, build a safe and efficient mineral resources guarantee system, and promote the expansion of common interests in the pragmatic cooperation of the mining industry of all countries, and the sharing of development results in mutual benefit and win-win results.
It is reported that there are more than 8,000 government officials, experts and scholars, representatives of mining companies and financial institutions from 54 countries and regions participating in this mining conference, and more than 500 domestic and foreign exhibitors. The conference held theme forums, international mining ministers forum, corporate CEO forum, international geological survey directors forum, "Belt and Road" mining cooperation forum, and launched 42 thematic forums and national and enterprise project promotion meetings.
